Pray for Joseph

Joseph McPherson, one of the pupils at Cults Primary school (and friend to some of the boys in the church), is very unwell in hospital. He has had three operations in the last couple of weeks and is currently in the high dependency unit at the hospital.

As a church we’ve been praying for Joseph, and we want to set aside some time for a special prayer focus during this critical time.

From 5:30pm on Sunday 20th May, for 30-45 minutes, we’ll meet in the lounge at the church to bring Joseph and his family to God in prayer.

If you can’t make it to the church, perhaps you can put the timinigs in your diary in any case, and join with us in prayer.

Introducing…Hillview Ramblers

In May we’re launching a new opportunity for us to get to enjoy each other’s company while we enjoy God’s great outdoors.

It is hoped that we will gather as a church family, once a month, to enjoy different walks in the area (weather dependent).

It will be a great opportunity to establish friends within the church as well as being open to invite others to come along too.

On Saturday 5th May we are meeting at Scolty car-park at 2pm for a walk. Location info here.

Afterwards we will head down to Banchory Green (probably around 3:45) for picnic (bring your own) and ball games.

Everyone is welcome, even for just part of the afternoon.

Small groups starting again soon!

We had a great first term of small groups, and now we’re looking forward to another special time of going deeper together as brothers and sisters before God.

The next small groups’ term will be starting the week beginning 30 April. We’ll be in touch with more information very soon.

Easter services at Hillview

Palm Sunday (1 April)
11am: service of worship; 6pm: evening service.
Good Friday (6 April)
6:30pm: Remembering the cross; readings and communion.
Easter Sunday (8 April)
9:00am: Church “bring and share” breakfast
10:00am: Kids Easter Egg Hunt
11:00am: Easter celebration

Cults Primary comes to church!

We had a fantastic morning today, with almost 300 children from Cults Primary school coming to sing, have fun, and hear the Easter story. It was a brilliant time!

Members’ Forum this Sunday

We are looking forward to our second members’ forum on Sunday. This is our opportunity to enjoy fellowship together, and to hear what God is doing in our midst, and to seek God together as to the way forward.

Straight after the morning service, we will share lunch together. This will take the form of a “bring and share” lunch. Bring enough for your family, and some extra to lay out on a table for others.

Christmas services at Hillview

The recent (fantastic!) nativity presentation from the kids was just the first of a number of special services over Christmas and New Year.

Sunday 18 December
11:00am: the last of our “Why Jesus came to earth” series.
5:30pm: Candlelight Carols. Christmas unplugged for all the family – café style, with refreshments.

Christmas Eve
11:00pm: a traditional watchnight carol service.

Christmas Day
10:30am: A short, fun, all-age celebration of Jesus’ birth.

New Years Day
11:00am: A chance for all ages to commit the coming year to God. There will be an open testimony time as part of this service – perhaps you could come and share a reflection on 2011, or a hope for 2012.

Nativity this Sunday!

We are so thankful to have so many kids in this church family. Try and come along this Sunday to support them as they share the wonder of the Christmas story with us.
